ONE MORE FOR TINTIN

Cutting a cauliflower,
My mother found a caterpillar,

Screaming with fright,
Her saucer went for a flight

Walking by her side,
With all my might,
I picked up the caterpillar

On a green cauliflower leaf,
It felt bright,

Dainty but shiny,
It gleamed in daylight

Weeks passed,
It is now a butterfly,

Fluttering its wings,
It sits on my fingertip,

Ready for a flight,
I bid her goodbye.

Struggling with the tide
I hold on to a twig

Tossing and turning
Big waves crash by
Withering me down
Pulling me apart
Forces unite
To tear me apart

For a while
I almost give up
Gasping for breath
I no more long for life

About to wash out
I hear your cry
Your silhouette
In the depths
Swims by

Blurry-eyed
With the death defied
Am back to the shores
By your side

I no more fear the waves
Nor do I care for the tides
Now that I am anchored
You by my side

Trapped
I long to fly
In suffering
A smile unfettered
Scratch the surface
And you would see the scar
Healed
Yet deep enough to pain

Can you come by
For me to cling on
So that I carry on
For a little while
Holding your hand
A little distance
Until I cross the road
And bid my goodbye....

A tiny bundle
You were
Landed in my lap
From the skies
I smiled

Let out a cry
Annouced “here I am”
Turned around my world
I smiled

Blinked your eyes
Closed it as fast
Your first glimpse of this world
I smiled

Stretched your hand
Reached out for me
Feeling blessed
I smiled
